1. Eve account question. - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
For others with EVE trials who wish to re-use their names, you would have to biomass (delete) the trial character to open the name. Of course, this may cut into the final day or so of your trial. As said above, you could try to petition CCP to re-...

2. Amarr Assault Suit - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
Skill bonuses never have adverse effects. What it will do, is allow your LRs and SRs will be able to fire in longer bursts, letting you apply more damage to the enemy without overheating and getting a blastback of coolant plasma.

3. How to talk to eve players? - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
Some will be in your Local chat. Otherwise, you can use the create/join tab to attempt to find a channel with some already in it. Currently, DUST chat isn't very good at facilitating these kinds of interactions - your best bet is actually to join ...

4. Why are shields better? - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
So to recap - Type II heavy will let you pick, but shield-tanking might be preferable there. Also, proto is only worth the extra investment when you've gotten every core-skill that backs it up to at least l4 - very similar to tech-II and tech-III ...

5. Charge weapons worth it? - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
@McBob: that is actually a good use for the Caldari sniper - it should be pointed out that the semi-auto function will likely live on in the Amarr's Scrambler Rifle - but it might have marginally shorter range as a compromise. I'm also going to gu...

7. Why are shields better? - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
Currently, because more dropsuits use shield, and because armor-tanked vehicles catch on fire if you let it get down too far. A good module to fit on your Assault is the "Shield Regulator" - it's a low slot module that reduces the wait time until...

8. Skill point Question - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
There's no cap - but SP is useless once you've L5ed everything, which currently takes some months to get close to. But many more skills are on the way, stretching that time further. Take EVE for example - it's on record that one needs at least 20...

9. Dropship Flight School - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
I just tried out my first dropship of the Open Beta - one of nine Vipers that I had stocked up for a nice, open match. BTW, I haven't climbed in one since Precursor. I found such a match in Manus Peak Skirmish, spawning on B (attacker) side - a ni...

10. How do I connect with my friends? - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
Then i'm not sure what to tell you. Character race doesn't affect anything in DUST. And in EVE, it only affects your starting ship and weapon skill. Since you claim the senders your friends, I can't really attribute it to an invite not really b...

11. How do I connect with my friends? - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
You don't get invites through PSN - the game has its own proprietary system. You should get them in your Notifications - hit Select to open the chat, then navigate to the top tab. If it's not there, then I'm not sure what to tell you

12. Character Creation - Starting Skills and Specialty BPO Fit - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
After further review, i'll agree that the Arbiter is the best for tank-focused players and for the most-common vehicles in public matches. And I'm actually OK with snipers - it's the grenades I worry about. The specialization fit (a BPO Scout) can...

13. Low Hanging Fruit or the Long Con? - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
Depends on what you want to do with your DUST character. If you take a bunch of l1s and l2s, you become the proverbial "Jack of All Trades, Master of None" L4s and L5s let you do great with whatever that skill is tied to, but you have little SP le...
